Relevant Dates

8/11: CONSOLE CHOSEN. Neocities page breaking down full timeline will be created for easy reference. Google form asking all musicians ready to commit to the album to submit 3 pitches for tracks will be posted. 2 weeks given to brainstorm pitches before form is closed.
8/25: ALL PITCHES IN. Leo will probably ping people if there is anyone who hasn't submitted that expressed interest, just in case.
9/8: TENTATIVE TRACKLIST CREATED. A new Google form will be created for artists ready to commit to the album to fill out, asking for top 3 preferences on which tracks to work on. 2 weeks given in case artists need time to be sure they will have availability, or to hear more detail on each song before choosing. Musicians welcome to start on their tracks.
9/22: TRACKLIST FINALIZED, ARTISTS PAIRED WITH TRACKS. Everyone knows what they're going to do, so it's time to get to work!
10/6: FIRST CHECK-IN: SKETCHES. It's ok and expected for things to change by the end, but at this point there should be a starting point - a thumbnail from artists, a melody or a synth or beat or lyrics from musicians; more concrete than just ideas.
11/3: SECOND CHECK-IN: 50% DONE. Substantial progress should have been made and the beginnings of a finished work should be visible.
12/1: FINAL SUBMISSIONS DUE. There is some leeway in case anyone needs extension since it's the holidays but this is, officially, the deadline.
1/1: NEW YEARS 2024 RELEASE!!!!!!!

The theme is "GameBoy Advance." Anything related to or inspired by the GBA or its library of games is fair game. This can include:

Covers or medleys based on existing tracks from GBA games
Original songs about/inspired by certain GBA games
Original songs about/inspired by the GBA itself
A song about some extremely obscure GBA hardware peripheral that fascinates you
A song about replacing the internal battery in your copy of Pokémon. Except that one's taken sorry
Get weird with it! This is the "weirdos make weird art" discord!

A new secret channel has been created under the "Creative" category on Discord. Keep WIPs and brainstorming to the Secret Channel until it's time to start posting some previews. Make it a fun surprise!
Don't, yknow, create anything you wouldn't post on the Discord in any other context
If you need an extension, to drop out, or anything else, just ask Leo. There is leeway built into the schedule. We can accommodate, all you need to do is communicate.
