Regular Monthly Events

Thursday, November 7: Throwback Thursday

Saturday, November 16: Start Something Saturday

Wednesday, November 27: WIP Wednesday

THROWBACK THURSDAY:

Throwback Thursday (first event of the month) is a day dedicated to sharing past works! It was started to reject the modern social media trend of forcing creatives to constantly generate new content. Throwback Thursday is just meant to celebrate and look back on something that is NOT new. It doesn't matter if it's something from a few months ago or a few decades ago, the point is to just appreciate art that we have made, because art matters long past just the point when it's new. You don't have to just post something once and never celebrate it again! Throwback Thursday says: celebrate it regularly!!!!

START SOMETHING SATURDAY:

Start Something Saturday (mid-month event) is a challenge to make some tangible progress on a project. Have a project or idea in mind that you haven't actually done anything with? START IT!!!! That's what Start Something Saturday is for. Note that it doesn't have to exclusively be dedicated to starting NEW projects; it can mean picking an old project back up and starting back on it; it can mean starting the next step on a larger-scope project. The spirit of Start Something Saturday is to JUST DO IT. You're encouraged to join the creative-voice Discord channel at any time of the day to chat with fellow creatives as we all strive to make progress together.

WIP WEDNESDAY:

A buddy of Throwback Thursday, WIP Wednesday (last event of the month) is intended to provide a space to show off stuff you're excited about/proud of.... that's not quite finished yet. It's okay if it never WILL be finished, it's still worth celebrating what you've done so far! Unlike Start Something Saturday, WIP Wednesday is a no-pressure event to just share the current state of projects and celebrate work you've already done. If doing so inspires you to work on it more, that's awesome!!! But not necessary. Everyone works at their own pace, and the act of creating is valuable in and of itself.
